Mi-50

Its moniker, dubbed by the NAU, is misleading: these huge, heavily armored cargo helicopters do not appear in massive swarms. Nor are they very agile. They appear in numbers less than the fingers on one hand and can't do too much more than a single barrel roll at low speed, but can carry a very large number of Airborne Strelki and their hardware deep into enemy territory.

Main Armament[]

Kord HMG[]

The Locust has four passenger-used Kord 12.7mm HMGs. Each draws from a magazine of 600 rounds.

Upgrades[]

A) YaKB 12.7mm Replace the Kords with 12.7mm miniguns, capable of slicing through light vehicles and masses of infantry with ease. Plus, it's easier to hit things with 3000 bullets than 900 bullets.

Armor[]

Learning lessons from the Afghan UPRISING, the Locust is plated with RYCRYS advanced composite armor, the same material used to coat T-120 Main Battle Tanks. This provides it with 40mm AP resistance. In addition the Locust carries a full ECM suite and is also equipped with a plethora of chaff and flares.

Powerplant[]

The Locust uses four Lotarev D-136-U gas turbines to lift itself and up to 30 tons of cargo into the ear. This means that it can carry 110 Airborne Strelki and their equipment or an entire BTR-120 Heavy Infantry Carrier internally.
