Tom Clancy's EndWar (PSP/DS) is a real time strategy game for the PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS. Related to Tom Clancy's EndWar for the console and PC, the PSP and DS versions features its own story and turn-based mechanics, sharing the setting of EndWar. It was released on 4th November 2008.

Gameplay[]

EndWar features turn-based gameplay, utilising hexagonal tiles for movement. The game lacks the voice command features of the main game, instead using a simplified control schema. Each turn consists of a move and attack phase, with both the player and their opponent undergoing each phase

The rank system from the console-PC version remains. In addition, EndWar features a base building system to produce new weapons and units, as well as repair existing ones. It is also possible to capture enemy bases.

The game allows the player to play as the three factions from the main game. Plot is:

  1. Enforces — The elite counter-terrorist and peacekeeping forces of the European Union are known as the Enforcers. They have extensive experience in urban warfare.
  2. Spetsnaz Guard Brigades — The Spetsnaz are the elite of the Russian forces. Often using outdated equipment, the Spetsnaz rely on skill and courage — some might say 'insanity'.
  3. U.S. Joint Strike Force — The United States' elite forces — the JSF — are a network-centric army. Highly trained and pragmatic, these powerful soldiers will do whatever it takes to win a battle.

Each faction has around 33 missions, although the factions vary in the their difficulty, with the Enforces representing Easy, the JSF Medium and the SGB Hard difficulty. All missions in the campaigns have the same names and orders. Only the Spetsnaz campaign has different maps and tasks.

The game also features a short Prelude to War tutorial, although it is different to the console-PC version, being shorter and with different missions.

The game features a mix of land, aerial and naval units, with both ground-air and naval battles occurring. Many of the units are shared with EndWar but there are some different units, some of which were cut from the main game. Units are shared between the three factions.
