Staff Sergeant Marc Rakken is a character in the EndWar novel. He is part the Stryker Brigade Combat Team that was sent to Calgary, Alberta. He was killed diving onto a grenade to save a US NEST Team during the Battle of Calgary. Rakken was a close friend of special forces operative Nathan Vatz. Before both men were deployed to Canada, Rakken gave Vatz his prized balisong which Vatz would later use to kill a Russian soldier, saving his own life.
