The Green Brigade is an environmentalist terrorist group seen in the EndWar novel that were being supplied by the Russians. The Forgotten Army is a splinter group of the Green Brigade. The group is also known as the Green Brigade Transnational.
According to the novel, the Green Brigade was originally formed in 2012 and conducted terrorist attacks throughout the world, primarily in Europe and South America. Between 2012 and 2018, they reportedly more than a thousands of act of violence, including intimidating factory and refinery workers and the kidnap and murder of business executives, military personnel and computer scientists.
In Green Brigade uniforms, the Russians hijacked a satellite and destroyed the Freedom IV, the spacecraft carrying the final piece of the Freedom Star, a controversial orbital platform that the United States (US) was constructing to deploy U.S Marines in any war situation. The Green Brigade planted the nuclear weapons for Operation: 2659. That plot was stymied by the U.S. NEST teams.
The book also makes references to a base in Bulgaria where there was a Green Brigade training camp, possibly meaning that the Green Brigade is a European group. The Green Brigade is led by the Green Vox.
The Green Brigade are also referenced in EndWar's game files, with audio files indicating they were meant to have been fought at some point in the Theater of War, but this was cut from the final game. However Forgotten Army soldiers will reference Gaia and an ecoterrorist ideology.[1] Cut content for the game indicates that the Green Brigades were originally meant to be present in the Prelude to War as well, replacing the Forgotten Army and with several additional expanded missions.
